Shine Kids Therapy Clinic is a private operated clinic and fees are payable for treatment sessions, assessments, and group programs. Most clients are eligible for Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Enhanced Primary Care (EPC).  Health Insurance rebates also apply for some clients. Shine Kids Therapy Clinic is registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Medicare. WorkCover, TAC, and Victims of Crime (VOCAT) may also be available for some clients. We complete a service delivery schedule for all our clients which will help you to manage your funds to make the most of the therapy sessions.


Mental Health Care Plan – A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is issued by your GP for mental health concerns, such as behaviour problems, anxiety, depression, etc. It consists of up to 10 sessions per calendar year and can be used for psychology and occupational therapy services.

You need to visit your GP to assess your eligibility for this funding. Your GP will give you the paperwork to bring into Shine Kids Therapy Clinic so your rebates can apply for your child’s therapy sessions. You are able to use up to two (2) sessions from this plan to visit the therapist to discuss your child.

Chronic Disease Management Plan or Enhanced Primary Care – A Chronic Disease Management Plan is a rebate for services for clients that have a chronic medical condition that has been present for more than six months. It consists of five (5) rebates per calendar year for combined allied health services, such as speech pathology, occupational therapy, and psychology.  Please consult your GP to assess your child’s eligibility for this plan as your therapist needs to be invited to participate by your GP. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The NDIS is a nationally funded program to assist people with a diagnosed disability. If your child is eligible for NDIS, they will receive an annual funding amount to be used on services to assist your child reach set goals and promote independence. Shine Kids Therapy Clinic is registered with NDIS for Therapeutic Supports (Daily Living). In your initial meeting with us, we will review and discuss your NDIS plan and set therapy goals for your child.  We can also help you to apply for funding with the NDIS if you are requiring assistance with the process.  Please talk with one of our experienced therapists if you need assistance.

We are in the process of applying for specialty registration for Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) as well as Positive Behaviour Support. Please contact us to be placed on our waiting list for a priority appointment once our specialist registration is approved.

WorkCover, TAC, & VOCAT

WorkCover and TAC may provide funding for your child to access therapy services. Please let us know if you require assistance with this funding option.

If you or your child has been a victim of crime you may be eligible for financial assistance for therapy services when other funding assistance is not available.  Please visit the Victims of Crime website ( to apply or contact us for assistance.
