Shine Kids Therapy Clinic is a team of experienced and dedicated Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Therapy Assistants, and Clinic Administrators.

 Our Psychologists

Jennifer Farrell

Jennifer has a Master of Child and Educational Psychology and worked as a play-based Psychologist for over 22 years. She is also the Director at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic. Jennifer has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and their families conducting educational assessments, providing counselling, supportive parenting, and group programs. She has worked in school and community settings as well as many years in private practice.

Jennifer works with children with ASD, developmental delays or gifted, anxiety, emotional and behavioural regulation difficulties, and social development. Jennifer has additional training in challenging behaviours and works with families from the Thoughtful Parenting and Collaborative Parenting frameworks. Parenting forms a large component of Jennifer’s work. 

Jennifer is also a qualified Sandtray therapist and had additional training in art and play-based therapy, and is passionate about helping children and their families live more connected and meaningful lives.

Jennifer completes educational/cognitive assessments, ASD assessments, individual counselling, behavioural and emotional development, as well as parenting support and strategies. Jennifer also visit schools, kindergarten, and childcare centers to further support children’s development and their families.

Merishka Moodley 

Merishka has a Master of Professional Psychology and enjoys working in mental health and play-based therapies. Merishka works with children with ASD, anxiety, and emotional and behavioural regulation difficulties. She provides individual therapy sessions that focus on therapeutic techniques, skill based training methods, and creative-based therapy techniques. 

Merishka completes educational/cognitive assessments and also visit schools, kindergarten, and childcare centers to further support children’s development and their families.

Merishka is available on Monday and Wednesday at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic. 

Our Occupational Therapists

Sophia Thomas

Sophia has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours). Sophia has loads of experience working with children with developmental delays and intellectual disabilities. Sophia works with children and families in all areas of sensory processing, emotional regulation, self-care independence, and fine and gross motor skills. Sophia has additional training in SOS Fussy Eaters Program, sleeping and toileting programs. Sophia also conducts functional assessments for funding applications and assessments for fine and gross motor development, including dysgraphia.

Sophia is available Monday and Thursday at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic.

Camille Evangelista

Camille has a Master of Occupational Therapy. Camille works with children and families in all areas of sensory processing, emotional regulation, self-care independence, and fine and gross motor skills. 

Camille is  available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic.

Tak Wai Lai

Tak has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours). She has loads of experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviours. Tak works with children and families in all areas of sensory processing, emotional and behavioural regulation, self-care independence, and fine and gross motor skills.  Tak also conducts functional assessments for funding applications and assessments for fine and gross motor skills, including dysgraphia.

Tak will be providing individual and group based therapy at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic, including holiday programs, social skills groups,  school readiness, and science club groups. Tak is available Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic.

Tak is bilingual and speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese. 

Our Speech Pathologists

Natasha McVicar

Natasha has a Bachelor of Speech Pathology. She enjoys working with preschool and school-aged children with a range of speech and language difficulties. 

Natasha has experience in delivering individual and small group programs to target areas such as communication, play, literacy, swallowing/ mealtime, speech and language development. She is trained in the Augmented Communication devices. She is passionate about collaborating with individuals and their families to develop individualised programs to maximise their potential. As well as a range of individual therapies, Natasha operates the Lego-Based Therapy groups, Social Skills and School readiness Program groups  at Shine Kids Therapy Clinic.  Natasha is available Tuesday through to Saturday.

 

Our Therapists Assistants

Madeline Giardina

Madeline is a 4th year occupational therapy student and enjoys working with children and families in all areas of sensory processing, emotional regulation, self-care independence, and fine and gross motor skills. Madeline currently runs our Saturday social skill programs with Rebecca and will soon join our therapy team as a qualified therapist.

Rebecca Woods

Rebecca (Bec) is a 4th year occupational therapy student and enjoys working with children and families in all areas of sensory processing, emotional regulation, self-care independence, and fine and gross motor skills. Bec currently runs our Saturday social skill programs with Madeline and will soon join our team as a qualified therapist. 

Our Clinic Admin Team

Georgia Barbopoulos – Practice Manager 

Georgia is our Practice Manager who ensures that everything in the clinic as well as with our clients is operating as it should. Georgia is happy to answer your queries, fix things that need fixing, and chat to you about your day. 

Mary Diamond – Receptionist

Affectionally known as Fairy Mary, Mary is a fun loving, positive, and family focused receptionist who is happy to take your calls and answer your queries.  Mary is trained as a children’s yoga and mindfulness teacher who also offers programs at the clinic.

Stella

Stella is our dog IN therapy!  At the moment, Stella is a little challenged and we have diagnosed her with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) due to her refusal to comply with any instruction unless it is her own idea. Stella is currently on sabbatical from the clinic and is due to return in the near future.
